VDMA in Japan
The German engineering industry still views Japan as a market with high potential. Therefore, the VDMA continues its efforts towards further market growth and maintains its presence in Japan. In May 2017 VDMA opened a liaison office within the AHK Japan in Tokyo with Mr. Heiwa Hasegawa taking over the responsibilities of Holger Wittich as VDMA representative. Mr. Hasegawa speaks both German and English.

Furthermore, the office acts as a point of contact for the local subsidiaries of the VDMA member companies, does market research and takes care of individual inquiries from member companies. Additionally, it supports member companies with establishing contacts to local customer branches and collects information about important fairs in Japan.
